Falls from a standing position are the main risk factor for hip fractures in the elderly, with significant consequences for autonomy, quality of life, and survival rates. Medical research indicates that falls with lateral impact are most frequently associated with hip fractures[1], and the use of hip protectors has proven to be an effective preventive strategy to reduce the incidence of such fractures[2].
